Personality Development Activities at RIMSE Swami Vivekananda says: “The science of Yoga claims it has discovered the laws which develop this personality, and by proper attention to those laws and methods, each one can grow and strengthen his personality. This is one of the great practical things and this is the secret of all education. This has a universal application. In the life of the poor, the rich, the man of business, the spiritual man, in everyone’s life, it is a great thing, the strengthening of the personality.” To guide students in understanding and developing a personality as envisaged by Swami Vivekananda in the above passage RIMSE has developed A 150 – minute multimedia Compact Disk Personality Development jointly with Indus Quality Foundation, New Delhi and NIIT. This multimedia CD is being shown for school students who visit RIMSE and also in different schools in Mysore, New Delhi and Dehra Dun. The CD explains the five dimensions of personality and how divinity is at the core of it. Character formation is the basis of personality development. The foundation of character has to be based on a Panchasheel, five principles which when followed shape our character and develop our personality. To develop a well balanced, harmonious personality, we have to follow a fourfold daily personal action programme based on action, knowledge, devotion and meditation. If we practice the daily action programme with patience and perseverance we are sure to have an integrated, all-round personality.
